Bad Bones Art Festival - Daytona Beach - 2013

TL(D)R is a small body of work I produced for the Bad Bones Art Festival in Daytona Beach. Our band Brothers also played the festival. It was a fundraiser for the family of “Bad Bones” Bruce who passed away shortly before we moved to the area. He was extremely loved by everyone in the community and we felt his presence even though we never knew him personally.

The idea of this project was simple, I wanted to show some iconic locations and feelings of the area, a beach town, by showing how it looks on the focusing screen of a 60 year old twin lens reflex camera. Everything looks prettier and more magical on that screen, it also helps simplify the scenes by forcing them into a 1×1 frame. The way the texture of the ground on which the camera sits frames the images and gives them some context, even if it is just out of focus colors.
