I was listening to some clips of Rick Rubin recently and he has some really wise words on pursuing what you find interesting and doubling down on it even if at first other people don’t understand it. That is truly the only way to make original work because it is specific to you and only what you could make.
The other morning my dog woke me up early and so I grabbed my cameras, jumped in the Runner, and headed to the outskirts. I am not sure what draws me to these areas. I think I like the contrast of what used to be small towns slowly being consumed by the cities. I like the history and the decay. Also maybe I shouldn’t try to put it to words. I just need to pursue what I like and see what comes of it.
