My 3rd gen 4Runner has slowly turned into the kind of adventure rig that makes it easy to say “yes” to last-minute trips—whether that’s camping in the cold, chasing dirt roads in Colorado, or heading out toward Utah and Moab. In this post I share the build as it stands right now, the upgrades that have made the biggest difference, and why this setup works so well for the way my family and I like to travel: simple, capable, and ready for the next stretch of backcountry.
